Safeway is the only company I have ever worked for. I am approaching my ten-year annivesary with the company. I started out as a Courtesy Clerk bagging groceries when I was in high school. After a year, Safeway promoted me to a Grocery Clerk, in which I checked out people's groceries and stock displays. After five years in the store, I wanted to move up in the company, so I decided to work at the Corporate office as a Accounting Clerk. A couple years ago I moved up to an Accountant level position which involves supervisory duties. This is my posiition to this day. After I receive my MBA degree, I hope to some day become a manager and later a director of my department.
I enjoy working for Safeway, because I am treated with respect and I receive excellent benefits. Safeway is a wonderful company that treated me very well over the years. I am hesitant to leave the company, because I would hate to start at the bottom again and many companies cannot compare to how good Safeway is. If I ever get sick of Safeway, I can go for my Ph.D. and start teaching at a university.
